How to Reset Your WordPress Password

If you've forgotten your WordPress password, don't worry β€” it's easy to reset. You'll just need access to the email address connected to your account.

TIP: Your WordPress login page is usually at yourwebsite.com/wp-admin. Replace "yourwebsite.com" with your actual domain name.

Resetting Your Password

  1. Go to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin and click Lost your password? below the login form.

  2. Enter your username or email address and click Get New Password.

  3. Check your email inbox for a message from WordPress. Click the reset link inside the email.

  4. You'll be taken to a page where you can enter a new password. Click Reset Password when done.

  5. Log in using your email address and your new password.

NOTE: If you don't see the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. The email usually arrives within a minute or two.

Changing Your Password While Logged In

  1. In the top-right corner of your dashboard, click your name or Howdy, [Your Name].

  2. Click Edit Profile.

  3. Scroll down to the Account Management section and click Set New Password.

  4. Enter your new password and click Update Profile.
